While Nick Fury is away on a top-secret mission, Sharon Carter steps in to temporarily lead S.H.I.E.L.D. Facing a wave of new threats arising in the streets, she assembles a team of seven formidable heroines: Elsa Bloodstone, Yelena Belova (White Widow), Jessica Jones, Barbara Morse (Mockingbird), Felicia Hardy (Black Cat), Laura Kinney (X-23), and Neena Thurman (Domino).
