Detective Thorne returns, younger and with no memory of Season 1. He meets a mirror version of himself who tells him not to trust Mara. In a farmhouse surrounded by stillborn livestock, Mara finds tapes from her childhood showing conversations she never had. Esther returns — pregnant — but says it’s not her child. A blizzard descends on the town. The boy is spotted walking through the snow barefoot, leaving no prints. When followed, he leads people to rooms from their past — and forces them to relive the worst day of their life. A mansion appears where the reservoir used to be. It matches blueprints from 1902 — a home that was never built. Inside, Mara finds her mother waiting at a dinner table… with the Glass Child in a high chair. Each resident begins receiving a personalized obituary in the mail. Mara gets hers, postmarked from 1983. The boy is taken by a cult known as The Pale Root, who believe he is the final memory of the world.
