Our heroine. Luker’s precocious and bizarrely mature 13-year-old daughter, determined to dig up family secrets. Her mother is rarely mentioned and unnamed, but it appears she is not a part of India or Luker’s lives. India has an untapped psychic ability, which she learns to harness to understand her cursed family, and the history of their haunted and decrepit beach houses standing on the Alabama Gulf Coast, on a plot of land used for vacationing. She and Luker have a very unconventional relationship, speaking to each other as adult friends rather than a father and daughter. She may know about his sexuality, and his past trauma at the beach houses on the Savage-McCray vacation land.
