A TV miniseries about the residential schools, a series of controversial church-funded establishments in Canada which were established with the view of educating Native American children; in reality, the children were ripped from their homes, subjected to years of appalling physical and emotional maltreatment in an attempt to strip them of their cultural identity, and this had repercussions which have rippled across generations.
