In a dystopian near-future, a mysterious disease wipes out 98% of children in the United States. The surviving 2% develop powerful and often dangerous abilities — and are immediately deemed a threat by the government. Labeled by color according to the powers they possess, these kids are captured and sent to brutal rehabilitation camps. Among them is Ruby Daly, a teenager who discovers she’s one of the most dangerous types — an Orange, capable of mind control. Escaping from her camp with the help of an underground resistance, Ruby joins a group of runaway kids: Liam, a kind-hearted telekinetic (Blue); Chubs, a brilliant strategist; and Zu, a mute girl who can control electricity. Together, they search for a safe haven while avoiding bounty hunters and government forces. But Ruby’s growing power and dark secrets threaten to destroy the fragile trust within the group. As loyalties are tested and danger closes in, Ruby must choose between hiding who she is — or embracing her true strength to lead a revolution.
