  • samkresil ALSO funny enough, both Lee AND Connery were up for the role of Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings films. Connery turned it down because he didn't understand the story while Lee ended up playing Saruman.

    • samkresil @siddarthsid But he might also turn the part of Ras Al Ghal down because he didn't feel like play a villain, like for instance Hannibal Lector in Silence of the Lambs and Simon Peter Gruber in Die Hard 3.

    • samkresil @siddarthsid Yet he DID eventually end up playing the villain in the 1998 Avengers with Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman, although that film was quite bad.

    • siddarthsid @samkresil So true. How ironic that he kept turning down villain parts in such great movies, finally to play one in an atrocious movie like that 😂
