The protagonist, Jude, is human and her age is 17 at the beginning of the story. She grows older throughout the series. Jude's skin color isn't mentioned in the book series. In the official art of the characters in How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories Jude is depicted with a slim figure, walnut-colored hair, full lips, and light skin color but in the LitJoy Crate - The Cruel Prince Collection, Jude is depicted as having a light brown skin color.
