When Carrie - the young protagonist of A Mystery-Ran Machine - sets off to make a name for herself in sleuthing, accompanied by the improbably old Great Dane that once belonged to her tormented mentor, the late Mr. Jones, she quickly falls victim to a trap laid by a vengeful old enemy of the Scooby gang. An impish malcontent who seems to particularly hate Carrie’s new canine companion in whom she’s discovered a benevolent supernatural presence.
