In the bustling city of Gearhaven, time was never late — because Time had protectors. The Clockmaker’s League, a team of misfit superheroes, each had a unique power linked to the ticking of the great Clock Tower in the city’s heart. Hourglass, the calm and wise leader, could slow down time for exactly sixty seconds. Minute Hand, a speedy daredevil, could teleport anywhere within one minute’s walk. Second Strike, the youngest member, could deliver a lightning-fast punch once every sixty seconds — but it was powerful enough to shatter steel. For years, they protected Gearhaven from small-time villains and the occasional mischievous raccoon invasion. But one day, a shadow crept over the city — The Stopper, a mysterious figure who could freeze the Clock Tower for hours at a time. Without the Clock Tower’s rhythm, the League’s powers began to fade. Instead of fighting The Stopper head-on, Hourglass had a different plan: “If time won’t move forward,” he said with a smirk, “we’ll make it.” The team built a gigantic mechanical heart in the tower’s basement, pumping its own artificial “beats” into the city. With each pulse, their powers flickered back. Minute Hand darted through alleys, rescuing citizens frozen mid-step. Second Strike cleared falling debris in the blink of an eye. Finally, they confronted The Stopper — who turned out to be an old apprentice of the original Clockmaker, seeking revenge for being forgotten. But instead of defeating him, Hourglass offered him a place in the League. And so, The Stopper became Pendulum, the one who could pause time only to save it — and Gearhaven’s clock never missed a tick again.
