In the deceptively tranquil suburb of Woodcrest, nestled amongst manicured lawns and cookie-cutter houses, a storm is brewing. Robert 'Granddad' Freeman, a curmudgeonly veteran with a penchant for the old ways, envisioned a serene retirement after relocating his grandsons from the gritty South Side of Chicago. He dreamt of golf courses and Bingo nights, far removed from the chaos of urban life. However, his carefully laid plans are immediately derailed by his grandsons: Huey, a precocious and socially conscious 10-year-old revolutionary armed with a sharp intellect, and Riley, an 8-year-old embodiment of modern rap culture, whose misguided hero worship of gangsta life keeps him perpetually on the brink of trouble. Adding another layer to this unconventional family dynamic is Elias Slater, Granddad's adopted 16-year-old son, a cynical and quick-witted teenager navigating the complexities of adolescence while constantly trying to mediate his younger brothers' antics. While Huey and Riley wage war on each other and the unsuspecting residents of Woodcrest, their antics are often met with Granddad's own brand of eccentric discipline, resulting in a household perpetually teetering on the edge of hilarious anarchy. Even with Elias playing older brother and mediator, these boys continue to get into trouble with the locals.
