Synopsis

A string of high-profile murders sends Gotham into panic. Each victim is tied to the city’s elite—and each crime scene features a riddle. Batman, still early in his crusade, investigates with Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent. The clues lead to Edward Nygma, a former WayneTech programmer turned vengeful mastermind obsessed with exposing Gotham’s lies. As Bruce descends deeper into the city’s rotten core, he confronts Carmine Falcone’s criminal empire and uncovers a conspiracy linking politicians, judges, and Arkham’s funders. During a courthouse bombing meant to silence evidence, Harvey Dent is horrifically scarred. Riddler is apprehended but proclaims he’s “just a symptom.” Dent, now calling himself Two-Face, vanishes. Selina Kyle, disillusioned by Bruce’s darkness, leaves Gotham. Batman secures temporary peace but questions whether justice is even possible in a city this broken. Mid Credits: Bruce tells Alfred, “Get two tickets to Haly’s Circus. I think it’s time.” Post Credits: In the Batcave, Bruce watches news footage of a flying man in Metropolis. He mutters, “He’s not just a man.”
