The Batman is a 2008 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Produced by DC Studios and distributed by Warner Bros, it is the first film in the DC Movie Universe (DCMU). Directed by Matt Reeves from a screenplay by the writing teams of Reeves and Peter Craig, the film stars Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Anne Hathaway, Jeremy Irons, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart and Heath Ledger. In the film, Batman and Catwoman team up to fight against The Joker. This film was made to compete with the MCU that started the same year. read more
