Story Plot

The Apothecary Diaries if it was a live action Chinese Drama, rather than a light novel or manga follows Maomao, a young woman kidnapped and sold into service in the emperor's palace, who uses her knowledge of medicine and poisons to solve mysteries and navigate the complex social structures of the imperial court. She is initially a laundry maid but her skills are recognized by Jinshi, a handsome eunuch, who promotes her to a lady-in-waiting, where she continues to use her knowledge to help those around her.
