The Amazing Spider-Man 3 (2015/2016)

Following the death of Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker has abandoned his life as Spider-Man, overwhelmed by grief and guilt. At Aunt May's urging, he begins attending Empire State University, where he slowly reconnects with the world through new friends like Mary Jane Watson, Randy Robertson, and Liz Allen. Meanwhile, Peter's estranged father, Richard Parker, secretly returns to New York and discovers that Oscorp is attempting to weaponize the alien symbiote he once warned Peter about. At the same time, Peter's former classmate Flash Thompson, now a military veteran who has lost both legs and his father, becomes the test subject for Oscorp's symbiote program. Manipulated by Oscorp operative Mr. Fierce, Flash is transformed into Agent Venom and ordered to kill Spider-Man. When Rhino attacks New York, Peter realizes that being Spider-Man is still an important part of who he is and returns to action. As Peter rebuilds his life and investigates Oscorp with Richard, he clashes with Agent Venom and discovers that Flash is behind the mask. Their conflict escalates when Flash loses control of the symbiote and becomes the monstrous Venom. During an assault on Oscorp, the symbiote is exposed to Peter's blood and abandons Flash, bonding with Peter instead. The black suit amplifies Peter's grief, anger, and resentment, pushing him toward violence and even turning him against Richard. Ultimately, Peter remembers Gwen not through her death, but through the life and hope she represented, allowing him to reject the symbiote. After Richard exposes Oscorp's crimes and reconciles with his son, Peter returns to being Spider-Man. Weeks later, Peter visits Gwen's grave with Aunt May and Richard, finally accepting that moving forward doesn't mean forgetting Gwen. As he reunites with MJ, Liz, and Randy, Peter embraces his life again and swings through New York, choosing hope and becoming Spider-Man once more.
