Alex peters (jaeden martell ) is a young scholar who has lived with his Family, James (Sean Astinand) Vanessa ( Winona Ryder).Intelligent and with a great interest in science, alex has difficulty in relating to his colleagues, being shy and because they consider him a nerd. Until, in a scientific demonstration, an unexpected accident causes the genetically modified spider to bite alex. From then on, his body is chemically altered by the spider's bite, allowing alex to climb walls and ceilings, emit an ultra-resistant fluid similar to a spider's web through his fists and start to have a "spider sense", which warns you whenever there's danger nearby, plus super strength and magnified vision. Initially alex thinks about using his new powers to earn money, adopting the name shadow spider
