Years after losing Gwen, Peter Parker still has an investigation wall in his apartment, obsessed with finding his ex-girlfriend’s killer. MJ helps him search, but wants Peter to stop because the obsession is destroying him. Norman Osborn is becoming sick from something mysterious, forcing Harry to take his place in the public eye and on the news. Harry struggles with the pressure and often appears drunk or high. Meanwhile, Peter becomes Otto Octavius’s apprentice, and their relationship grows into something like father and son.J. Jonah Jameson’s son goes to space, but the mission ends horribly when a mystical red gemstone from the Moon, called the Godstone or Moonstone, attaches to his throat and sends him into a rampage. Spider-Man is forced to team up with Moon Knight, and Otto creates a serum that helps stop him. Jonah publicly thanks Spider-Man, admitting he always believed he was a great hero but never said it.Otto is secretly growing weaker and creates four mechanical appendages to help his body. Connected near his brain, the technology begins affecting his mind and bringing out his arrogance. As Peter becomes a better scientist, Otto grows jealous. He eventually snaps, attacks Peter with the arms, and demands he bring out Spider-Man. Peter barely escapes and is helped by Rio Morales, who calls MJ.Otto later breaks into Oscorp, where his problems began. Peter learns Otto and Norman were once best friends until Norman became greedy after his wife’s death and forced Otto out. Otto destroys Oscorp with Norman inside. Harry cannot save him, but Spider-Man saves Harry. Norman appears to die, and Harry blames Spider-Man for everything.
