They've been traveling through marshy land, until they finally cross a bridge into a dark and eerie ghost town with a looming tower above. Charlie recognizes this place. Years ago, when Charlie was a boy, there was a cult of non-aging murderers who worshipped the god of death. Eventually, they were banished, and the past two years, they had built an insane asylum (the tower) to keep them locked up in, manned by psychiatrist Dr. Elliot Pepperdawn. But it didn't take long for the cult to break out, overthrow Pepperdawn, and roam the town until their god told them to continue their murders. This is where Charlie and Fiskellio had arrived, known as Lockville. Charlie was prepared, he had brought a revolver along the way. He and Fiskellio worked there way through the town, killing one clown with a chainsaw. They arrived at the top of the building, to find a locked up Pepperdawn with a bloody shirt. The freed him, and he explained that every week they would come to where they had locked him up and carve a small line to mark how many weeks he'd been there. He had a little over ninety cuts. Charlie gave him a harpoon they had looted from the fishermen to help them get through. Carefully, they covered the whole town, with murderous stalkers lurking at every turn, providing another jump scare every few minutes. Eventually, they're fairly certain they've wiped the town of all killers, so they make their way to the worshipping chapel where they spot the cult leader himself. They devise a plan, and Charlie and Fiskellio go inside to confront him. He explains to them his cult's mission in a so-serious-it's-creepy way, and then begins a chant to bring his cult back to life. Charlie tries to fire, but he isn't loaded. Right when the leader is about to finish his chant, Elliot sneaks behind him right on cue and slits his throat with a stolen dagger. The cult is finally finished. Charlie and Fiskellio tend to Elliot's wounds, and inform him about they're adventure. In return for saving him, he agrees to come along. The three move out, one step closer to saving Charlie's family.
