The story revolves around three unlikely companions: Aldo Baglio, detained for credit card forgery and befriended by his cellmate Crapanzano; Giacomo Poretti, a police officer with literary aspirations, residing uncomfortably with his sister's family; and Giovanni Storti, an unloved toy inventor. When Aldo is being transported to court, Giacomo and his colleague Antonio are tasked with escorting him. However, Antonio ditches Giacomo to meet Giovanni's cheating wife, Elena. In a series of coincidences, Aldo discovers a gun in the police car and decides to hijack it. Giovanni's car gets stolen, and he inadvertently becomes another hostage. A wild journey ensues, including a car chase ending in a miraculous survival from a cliff fall. They spend a night in an abandoned cemetery and encounter Clara, an enigmatic woman Aldo falls for. Eventually, they realize they perished in the crash. Unraveling a trail of betrayals, affairs, and losses, they're guided by Clara, who's revealed as an angel. With her aid, they seek revenge before embracing their journey to the afterlife.
