Derek Jackson is a young autistic supermarket cashier, who's living his life. But suddenly one night, he collapses before he goes to bed and he is rushed to the hospital to find out he has Stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is terminal and that gives him ten weeks to live. So during his stay in a hospice home, he meets and falls for a Scottish patient, Meredith Bronson, who has leukemia and also ten weeks to live. They hang out around the hospital, near atriums and spas, since they're forbidden from leaving the hospital.
