Description of Emily Roland:
A runner for Temeraire’s crew from 10 years old, training to become Excidium’s captain when Admiral Roland retires. Daughter of Jane Roland, often mistaken for William Laurence’s child, which he does not correct out of respect for Jane. Hides her gender. Laurence is her schoolmaster, guardian, and a father figure. Emily cements the relationship he builds with Jane, and he looks to her often, and follows her progress to remind himself of his loyalty to her mother, and his duty to the future of the corps. Skilled with cutlass, pistol, and (once) a dragon sized tenaculum. Laurence and Temeraire’s biggest fan and ally.
