My own personal idea for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated show. My idea would be for it to be animated by the incredible Studio Mir in a style reminiscent of their work on Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender. I would want the show to also he similar as a family show that tackles mature topics and themes and has in-depth complex charactersread more

zestfulmaple Hamato Yoshi grew up in a fairly rural Japanese village with his friend Oroku Saki. Hamato was loved by his family and grew up disciplined and hopeful in the world. From an early age he was trained by a Samurai Master, alongside his friend Oroku Saki, who he saw as a brother. However Hamato valued grace and honor, whereas Oroku was a bit of a delinquent, had a jaded view of the world and was more brutal and lethal. One day, Oroku broke and murdered their sensei, burned their village and killed Hamato's wife and child. When Hamato returned to see Oroku standing over the corpses of his family in his still burning home, he and Oroku dueled. Hamato won, leaving Oroku scarred in the burning home and Hamato left to America to start a new life. He bought 4 pet turtles named after Renaissance artists....however his attempt at a new life was about end when he found 4 Foot Soldiers, who he recognized as a Japanese Gang Group, in an alleyway. He confronted them but in the fight, mutagen was spilled on Hamato and the turtles. Hamato, having been bit by a rat in the fight, mutated into a human sized rat. He took the turtles and found a spot in the Sewers to make into their new home, but now he was determined to take down The Foot, so he raised his turtle sons in combat and ninjutsu. He renamed himself after a pet rat he had as a kid that was killed by Oroku. He was now Splinter. Splinter is wise and direct, firm and disciplined but kind and caring. He is both a sensei to the turtles and a father. A badass in his own right but one that chooses to reserve his strength. He is still often haunted by past, but fills the void of his dead family with the new one he has, but this does cause him to be prone to overprotectiveness. The voice actor should be able to convey wisdom, discipline, kindness, fatherhood and traged as well as being able to effectively sell the "Badass Old Mentor" trope
