The old world order does not end with a cosmic invasion-it ends with a cold-blooded execution. Following a horrific, live-streamed bio-gas chemical massacre in Washington, D.C. perpetrated by the Green Goblin (Norman Osborn), a battle-worn, cynical Iron Man (Tony Stark) decides the endless loop of asylum lock-up and escape must end. Cornering a laughing, unrepentant Osborn in a dark Manhattan alleyway, Tony Stark bypasses all legal red tape and fires a point-blank, lethal Unibeam straight through the villain's chest on live global television. This single homicide shatters the justice system instantly, birthing the Iron Vanguard—an authoritarian, high-tech regime dedicated to the absolute preemptive regulation and automated military quarantine of all super-beings. Desperate to prevent an all-out superhero civil war, mutant peace icon Charles Xavier calls a secret, shadow-drenched bunker summit to negotiate mutant autonomy with Iron Man. The meeting collapses into pure tragedy when Vanguard mercenary Crossbones (Brock Rumlow) panics during a telepathic ripple, misinterpreting Xavier's attempt to calm the room as a mental breach. Bypassing orders, Crossbones fires a heavy kinetic round straight through Xavier's chest, killing him instantly. Forced to publicly swallow Crossbones' lie of "preemptive self-defense" to protect his regime's fragile public optics, Iron Man places New York under an immediate martial-law lockdown. For a grief-stricken Wolverine and an outraged Captain America (Steve Rogers), diplomacy is permanently dead. They merge forces to lead the underground Midnight Resistance in a full-scale, lethal guerrilla rebellion. But as the Vanguard and the Resistance bleed Manhattan dry, the sheer weight of global trauma, mutual hatred, and fractured combat frame data triggers a catastrophic cosmic consequence.
