The Year is 2072: A hacker is caught trying to break into the secured network of the Trioptimum Corporation regarding secrets aboard its space station: Citadel. Corporate VP Edward Diego gives the hacker a deal: Remove the ethical constraints on SHODAN, the onboard AI in exchange for a military-grade neural interface and a clean slate. The hacker agrees and is put in a 6-month healing coma after the surgery for the implant is complete. Diego then wipes all records of his and the hacker's involvement. The hacker wakes up to a nightmare: Most of the crew are dead, mutated, or turned into cyborgs. The station's security systems now serve the maniacal SHODAN, who is now Hell-bent on destroying humanity and rebuilding it in her image. Now the hacker must undo the horror they created, if they can survive...
