The movie opens on Krypton, where Jor-El and Lara are sending their infant son, Kal-El, to Earth to escape the planet's impending doom. Kal-El's ship lands in Smallville, Kansas, where he's found by Jonathan and Martha Kent, who name him Clark and raise him as their own. As Clark grows, he begins to develop extraordinary abilities. Jonathan helps him understand the importance of using his powers responsibly, instilling in him a strong moral compass. After Jonathan's death, Clark feels a calling to use his powers for good. He leaves Smallville and travels the world, helping people in secret. Clark eventually arrives in Metropolis, where he gets a job as a reporter at the Daily Planet and meets Lois Lane. When a major crisis threatens Metropolis, Clark decides to reveal himself as Superman, using his powers to save the city. Lex Luthor, a brilliant but ruthless businessman, sees Superman as a threat to humanity and begins plotting to destroy him. Meanwhile, General Zod and his Kryptonian followers arrive on Earth, seeking to terraform the planet into a new Krypton. Superman must battle both Lex Luthor and General Zod, protecting Earth and its people while also grappling with his own identity and place in the world. Lois Lane becomes an important ally to Superman, investigating Lex Luthor's schemes and helping Superman connect with humanity. Their relationship deepens as they work together.
