Set two years after the events of Superman: The Man of Tomorrow, Clark Kent continues his role as Metropolis’s protector. But peace is disrupted when news breaks: Lex Luthor has been released. Soon after, a mysterious AI virus begins infiltrating systems across the globe, and billionaire Maxwell Lord rises as the new public figure of Metropolis. Without warning, armies of sleek, untraceable droids begin attacking data centers and government labs. As Superman investigates, a colossal alien spacecraft descends from orbit. Emerging from its core is a cold, cybernetic being — Brainiac. He reveals that the droids were mere scouts, collecting data to measure Superman’s abilities. Overpowered in battle, Superman is taken as a living trophy. With Earth’s greatest defender gone, global panic sets in. Maxwell Lord urges the nations to abandon hope in Superman and instead negotiate with the invader — even if it means surrender. But not everyone is ready to give up. ....
