Mortally wounded by a massive energy discharge, Sauls uses his last bit of strength to transmit a message into James' brain. In a final twist, a past Metahuman is revealed to be a scientist named Dacre Sauls who worked with Alan's father to create a peaceful soul of the greater good from destroying mankind, until the workers took over and created a powerful and malevolent entity, from destroying humanity. And that Creature was trapped in a core inside of a metal ball that present Alan used to open and it caused him to disappear forever. James denounces Sauls' memory but recognizes that his actions have given his life a new purpose.
