(First appeared in Invincible #2 in 2003 and was created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker.) Rex Sloan was running away in an alley after stealing and was stopped by a government official named Radcliffe. Later, Radcliffe gave Rex's parents a large amount of money in exchange for him. Rex would be subjected to a series of experiments that led to him gaining explosive superpowers. He would be sent on various missions, including one that involved destroying the Pentagon, in which he met Atom Eve. Rex decided not to destroy the Pentagon, turned on Radcliffe, and eventually joined the Teen Team with Atom Eve.
