Basically Avengers Infinity War
Galeem, the celiestial menace that is more powerful than anything else before, has revived Master Hand and attacked Donkey Kong, Link, and Mewtwo. For all we know, Mewtwo joined Galeem, Link paid the price and Donkey Kong fled to warn Mario and the others. (Secretly, Link is alive, Mewtwo faked it and is going to sabotoge Galeem). As Zelda's love for Link returns, Donkey Kong warns Mario and Sonic about Galeem. They get a history lesson from Palutena about Master Hand and Tabuu actually having an alliance against two ancient foes: Galeem and Dharkon. Mario devises a plan to separate and find LITERALLY every single fighter to defend their world against Galeem. Samus, Cpt. Falcon, Ness, Pikachu and Pit find Link alive and they go to Hyrule to aid Zelda. Meanwhile, Mario and Sonic's team battle Mewtwo. Galeem leaves to have the revived Bowser and Ganondorf fight the Smash army at Hyrule. But then as he leaves. Mewtwo reveals his true intentions. Soon, everyone has regrouped. The battle was great and no Smash fighters were lost. But then, Galeem has come. He turned all but a handful of the army to dust, breaking hearts and lowering their forces. Dharkon comes and the remaining Smash fighters retreat. But Galeem makes the handful shorter, making it harder. In one final stand, Palutena, Zelda and Pit sent Galeem and Dharkon back, but not before falling to Galeem. Now Mario, Sonic, and the last of the Smash fighters have won the battle, but at a cost greater than any battle.
