A Second Chance at Life
Rose Lorkowski is a struggling single mother working as a maid when she reconnects with her estranged sister Norah, a directionless woman living in their parents' house. Desperate for a way out of poverty, Rose discovers a lucrative but emotionally taxing business opportunity: cleaning up after deaths and trauma scenes. Together, the sisters start a biohazard cleanup company, taking on the grim work that no one else wants to do. As they scrub away the remnants of tragedy, Rose and Norah confront their own painful past, including their mother's suicide years earlier. The work forces them to process grief, guilt, and loss while building an unexpected bond. Through encounters with grieving families and disturbing crime scenes, the sisters learn that sometimes the messiest jobs lead to the most profound healing. The film explores how ordinary people find dignity and purpose in unconventional work, and how confronting darkness can ultimately bring light and redemption.
