With his father dead and his mother missing, Flip has to go and live at his uncle's farm. He befriends a girl who he calls the mute girl due to the fact that she never says anything. He tries to adapt to his uncle's farm. One day he saves a friesian horse who he names Storm. He is allowed to keep him if he manages to tame him, but the horse won't let itself be tamed.
