(Reuben Miller)
Role added by @ihaveideas on October 2, 2026
Evelyn is a tragic product of her era who undergoes a radical, soul-shattering political and personal awakening. Deeply closeted and living under birth name (Reuben) at age 30, she is highly active in the New York Mattachine Society, clinging desperately to their philosophy of quiet assimilation and "respectability" as her only shield against total ruin. But when the Stonewall riots explode, the raw, unpolished fury of the street queens cracks her carefully constructed world wide open. Watching teenagers like Sylvia and women like Marsha bleed for their dignity forces Evelyn to confront her own cowardice and hidden truth. Shedding her suits and her fear, she steps into the light as a proud trans woman, turning her back on the polite politics of the past to offer her administrative skills, resources, and heart to the radical sanctuary of S.T.A.R.
