In between the rise of The Galactic Empire and the outbreak of The Galactic Civil War, Darth Vader was dispatched to Kashyyyk to defeat a Wookie uprising led by a Jedi survivor of Order 66 named Kento Marek, but once he struck down the Jedi Knight and his wife, Mallie Marek, Vader found out they had a son named Galen and takes the boy under his wing, giving him the codename "Starkiller". Over the timeline of 18 BBY - 2 BBY, Vader trains Starkiller to one day overthrow his Master, Darth Sidious, and rule the galaxy the way he sees fit. A well-known Jedi Master that survived a great fall from the office of the Supreme Chancellor of The Galactic Republic, Mace Windu became a Dark Jedi hermit after going into hiding on his homeworld of Haruun Kal and would remain undiscovered up until 2 BBY, when Galen Marek would travel to Haruun Kal in search of Senator Garm Bel Iblis and would learn that Windu captured the Senator and wanted to publically hang him before the natives of Haruun Kal, forcing Galen to fight Mace for the Senator's fate.
