The Story of Hüsker Dü
This is the story of the 3 men from the Twin Cities, who revolutionised punk music as we know it. Bob Mould, Grant Hart and Greg Norton were the progenitors of alternative rock, with sonic fury, melody and astute songwriting spearheading their assault on the senses. However, internal tensions and infighting, compounded with relentless drug use, sexual politics and ultimately, an untimely personal tragedy, caused the band to fall apart in 1988, only 9 years after their career had begun. This biopic traces the roots of the band, from Bob and Grants fateful meeting in a Minneapolis record store, to becoming the vanguard of a new "hardcore" musical movement in Reagans USA, to sleeping on the floor of their labels office, to relentlessly touring the country and prolifically releasing albums, all whilst trying and failing to deal with their own individual struggles.
