An artifact known as "The Tablet of Order and Chaos" split into four parts during a battle between Spider-Man and Mysterio , causing problems in the multiple realities of the Marvel Universe . Madame Web summons the four versions of Spider-Man from the four realities to help her restore balance between them: The Amazing Spider-Man, Noir - a version of Spider-Man from the 1930s, Ultimate Spider-Man, who is currently bonded to a symbiote, and Spider-Man 2099, a Spider-Man from a possible future. The Spider-Men are told that each of the villains in their respective universes had their powers developed due to the Tablet shards in each of their possession. Each villain has gained the power to accomplish what he most desires, defeating the Spider-Man of their respective universes.
