Morris Bench was a member of the crew of a ship that was one day boarded by the superhero Spider-Man. Unfortunately, he pushed Morris so hard that he lost his balance and fell into the water. To his great disaster, scientists used the area to test a new generator. At one point, Morris's body was exposed to a strong stream of volcanic gases and waves from the generator, which triggered an energy conversion process. Thus, its cellular structure in the base itself was disrupted. When he got Morris out of the water, he was already endowed with his inhuman abilities. Unfortunately, the desperate young man soon found out what he was capable of and decided to avenge the one who had caused his accident - Spider-Man.
