Peter Parker is now in his 10th year as Spider-Man. He is happily in a relationship with model and activist Mary Jane Watson, and his best friend Harry Osborn has returned from his trip across "Europe." But as Spider-Man, he is being hunted by an old foe, Kraven the Hunter. Kraven is now stronger than ever, thanks to the witch Calypso, who granted him immense power. After an encounter with Kraven, Spider-Man is badly beaten and almost dies, unless for Harry's secret saving his life. Thanks to Harry's secret, it transforms Spider-Man into something better, but this power makes Peter unstable.
