The fallen hero, Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, is in neither heaven or hell, but a Purgatory. That's where he meets a man, Jim Corrigan, who is the host of the Spirit of Vengeance, the Spectre. He wants Jordan to become the next host for the Spectre, if he seeks redemption. But Jordan must go through some trials and learn the ways of the Spirit of Vengeance if he wants a second chance.
