Silas is the secondary antagonist in the controversial 2003 novel The Da Vinci Code and the 2006 live action film adaptation of the same name. Silas is an albino follower of the religious organisation Opus Dei, who acts as the novel's primary assassin, instructed to find and destroy the Holy Grail by "The Teacher". He is known for his extreme self-punishment, violence, and fanatical obedience, but the real-life Opus Dei organization has stated that the portrayal in the book is a distorted and fictionalized representation of the actual group.
In the film adaptation, Silas is portrayed by Paul Bettany and is voiced by Phil LaMarr in the video game tie-in based on the novel.
