Mrs. Potts is a fictional and major supporting character from Disney's 1991 animated feature film, Beauty and the Beast. She is the Beast's head housekeeper and Chip's mother who was turned into an enchanted teapot, due to the Enchantress's curse.
As the Beast's housekeeper, she is in charge of maintaining all of the housekeeping staff to see that everything in the castle is all tidy and properly in order. Mrs. Potts is also very gentle and nurturing based on her being a mother, but can also be stern and no-nonsense, too. Unlike Cogsworth and Lumière, she lacks troublesome quirks and acts as the voice of reason amongst her workmates and is not above giving the Beast a piece of her mind when things get out of hand with his tantrums when confronting him on such behavior.
