After the Doomsday Project had been destroyed and the Freedom Fighters had won their victory, a new journey begins for Sonic and his friends. Snively returns as the new leader of Robotropolis, the evil wizard Naugus escapes the Void with King Acorn and Robotnik as his lackeys for world domination, NiCOLE wasn't originally a computer, more freedom fighters are discovered including Knuckles, origins of Mobius are revealed, and Sonic, Tails, Sally, and the rest pull together to find closure for their long-running fight for freedom.
