Basically a SatAM version of Sonic Adventure 2 with a Sonic 3 spin to it
Suffering his first real defeat, Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik and his minions had retreated to the abandoned Space Colony ARK where they found a new ally (if persuaded): Shadow the Hedgehog! Eggman orders the hedgehog to destroy Sonic, making him think our hero's a villain! Shadow saw this as a way to keep his promise to Maria: protect the planet from any threat. Sonic and the Freedom Fighters have fought with Shadow and almost perished! The battle took a heavy toll and now Uncle Chuck is just a week from death! Sonic is infuriated at the new enemy, but little does he or Shadow know, Eggman's been using Shadow to distract and destroy Sonic and his friends while Eggman begins to conquer Mobius! Seeing the truth, Shadow stands against Eggman's army and sees that Sonic and his friends are the protectors of this planet and decides to join them.
