Sonic and his friends are adjusting to their new lives on Christmas Island when they find out that Doctor Robotnik has returned, and found help from Shadow, G.U.N.N's most dangerous experimented specimen. Hired by the government to take down Robotnik and stop Shadow's dangerous powers, the Freedom Fighters find themselves on an adventure like no other as they head on a cross-globe adventure against an evil scientist and a telekinetic super-mutant.
