After settling in Green Hills, Sonic and Tails are eager to prove that they have what it takes to be true heroes. Their tests come when Dr. Eggman returns with a new partner, Knuckles, in search of a mystical emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic and Tails team up with a new friend, Amy, and together they embark on a globe trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.
