Story Plot
As the fourth installment in the Sonic Saga, it picks up right after Sonic The Hedgehog 3 where Amy Rose and Sonic are fighting the Metal Sonics, only to figure out that Dr. Robotnik who time travelled from the past sent some Metal Sonics, or at least that's what we think. It's actually Robotnik (Earth-Frank)
