Though he came from a long line of dragons that guarded the dungeon in Scalos Castle, Blades hated the idea of just sitting around in a castle all day and dreamed of traveling Skylands as a knight. However, one day the Golden Fear Serpent that rested within the dungeon awakened, terrorizing all until Blades confronted it and agreed to sacrifice his freedom so the serpent would bother his people no more. The serpent disappeared as Blades had conquered his fear, and this brave act led to him becoming a Skylander. In the original games, he speaks with an upbeat voice and has a prominent Scottish accent.
