Prince Andrew is a spoiled and selfish prince who lives in a kingdom in the middle of nowhere. One day, he is visited by a seal who begs for shelter in his castle-- whom he haughtily turns away. The seal transforms into a beautiful enchantress, who punishes his cruelty by turning him into a seal. The curse can only be broken if he learns to love and be loved by another before his 31st birthday. Jen is the only Asian girl living in the French village of Bellevue, whom everyone views as a "funny girl" for her ethnicity and views. She spends her days singing to herself and visiting her best friend, Rob. But after the death of her parents and Rob leaves Bellevue to volunteer for a children's camp far away, Jen finds herself more alone than ever.
