By day, Barbara Bridges is a hardworking journalist for the Paynes Point Reporter. Alongside her photographer and best friend Linda Shepherd, Barbara's hard-hitting work is acclaimed among the citizens of Paynes Point, a coastal New England city. In her secret life, however, she dons a mask and cape and becomes Silver Star, superpowered protector of Paynes Point. Barbara's intentions - to bring justice to the ne'er-do-wells of the city - are good, but her work as a superhero is less graceful than her work as a journalist. Gifted with super strength and the ability to fly, Barbara often does as much harm as good, usually leaving a trail of collateral damage in her wake. Barbara must overcome her superpowered clumsiness, however, when local billionaire businessman Orville Humphries reveals plans for a citywide solar panel system, secretly veiling a world domination plot in which the panels power a villainous machine capable of raising the sea level in order to sink his competitors.
