Description of The Retribution of Dr. Kracauer (Todestrance):

Told in the style of German expressionist film from the 1930s, a detective attempts to piece together the mystery surrounding a recent string of grisly murders, all of which were committed by dazed, previously-reported-missing people with no connections to the victims.

nathanbates Bruhl plays the detective of course. Melling, Goth, Diehl, Dencik and Hoeks play mindcontrolled assassins, pawns of the disgraced psychoanalyst and hypnotists Dr. Naehring (Herzog.) Stupid Sexy Fjolnir plays a former disciple of Naehring’s who later became the catalyst for his downfall. He is the ultimate target of this bloody campaign. In a final twist, after the mad doctor is presumed dead, Bruhl’s character I seen slowly rising from his bed and stepping out into the night. His eyes wide open but unblinking.
