Set during and after the events of the First World War; young couple Violet and William Shields attempt to come to terms with life after the armistice. Married for 7 years and friends since childhood, the two have lived under the impression they know each other inside out. However Violet notices how distant William becomes due to his declining mental health. The doctors term it “war strain”. But it’s more than that. There’s something he’s not telling her. And in turn there will be something she’s not telling him. Violet meets Birdie. 4 years ago William met Bennet. Secrets will be revealed...
