Kitty possesses the ability to pass through solid matter. scared of her parents reaction she ran away and got captured to Japan and the mental control of Ogun, the ninja master who had once been Wolverine's teacher but had since become his enemy. Ogun mentally had Kitty believe that she was his daughter and had been training in the art of ninjutsu. Ogun also cut her hair shorter.
